The Elysian Hotel and Private Residences
Slim vintage-looking tower planned as flagship for five-star hotel brand
The Elysian was designed by Lucien Lagrange, the Parisian-born architect behind so many of the city’s high-end towers. Like Lagrange’s other work, The Elysian has a vintage European feel. That’s a look that Elysian Worldwide, LLC wanted for what is to be the five-star flagship of a new hotel brand. Other hotel locations are planned for Europe and Asia, as well as other U.S. cities, down the road.
The project, planned for 11 E Walton St, includes 51 traditional condos as well as 188 hotel condo suites. Buyers of suites can choose from three different programs of 14, 35 or 90 nights when they can stay in their units. The condo hotel units are placed in the rental program when owners are absent and generate income.
Own to rent
Why own your own hotel suite downtown? “It’s a lifestyle decision,” said David Pisor, managing partner with Elysian Development Group. “I live in the suburbs and I want an in-town. Now I can get a place with an 18,000-square-foot spa and all of the amenities. And when I’m not there, I can rent it out.”
Other amenities at The Elysian include restaurants, a screening room, a concierge, door staff, a bar and “the Living Room,” which will have plush seating and a fireplace overlooking the project’s private courtyard.
Hotel suites started in the $600s in October 2007, while condo prices ranged up to $7.9 million.
