The property totals 106.3 acres and 1,848 feet of lake frontage. Within the property miles of roads & trails wind along the shore, through orchards, lush rolling pastures and old growth forest. The gated entrance which is lined on either side with giant maple trees and native stone walls.
Overlooking the lake is a lovely home ideally situated to enjoy the beauty of the surroundings. It is intended to blend with the landscape rather then dominate it. The homes interior has many features including four bedrooms with a dramatic master suite. A 30' by 80' deck along the front for outdoor living and entertaining. Manicured lawns down to the lake where a boat dock and sandy beach are found.
A state-of-the-art organic greenhouse was completed last year. It features special insulating glass, heat and a/c chller system, temperature controlled automatic roof venting, humidity controlled automatic misting system, roof shade system and opening windows. On either end of the greenhouse there are two outside raised bed gardens accented by white picket fences. Each growing bed is elevated 24" high and offers 120 linear feet of planting area for flowers and vegetables. There are sidewalks between each planting bed and individual automatic irrigation zones. Filled with organic soils these gardens produce bountiful organic produce daily. The sidewalk leading from the road to the greenhouse is lined with flower gardens on each side. Hundreds of red tulips herald the start of spring with a riot of color.
Near the greenhouse is an extensive blueberry orchard. Planted and well cared for over 40 years it has over 300 trees that produce thousands of pounds of the best tasting organic blueberries each season.
A small vineyard is located at the East end of the blueberries. Automatic irrigation delivers just the right amount of moisture to these Concord grapes which are ready for harvest each fall just after the first freeze.
Further down the pasture from the greenhouse and blueberries is a new barn that is built to look historic. It features 12 over 12 windows and cupola. It is 40' by 80' in size, has a hay loft at one end and the balance of the overhead area has opera trusses providing 18' tall ceilings. Nearby an antique hay barn has been fully restored.
The fields and pastures around the barn contain numerous fruit trees including four different types of apples, cherries, pears and goji berries.
Traversing the property is a network of 5 miles of paved roads and trails for horse back riding, biking or walking. Imagine going for an invigorating morning walk and never leaving the peace of your own property. Children can be free to explore the enchanted forests and meadows in total safety. The forests are a mixture of a variety of old growth timber. One of the larger oak trees is 19 feet in diameter and is estimated to be almost 400 years old.
