Buyers Warm up to Master Bedroom Fireplaces

Chicago-area builders are reporting a “hot” trend in master bedrooms features – fireplaces. There is a resurgence in demand for this old-fashioned feature among buyers, they say, because of the charm and romance it adds to the room.

At Trump International Hotel & Tower Chicago, buyers are fond of the master suite fireplace, which is standard in select condominium floor plans.

“These condominiums are among the finest homes in all of Chicago and are designed to create a true feeling of luxury,” said Leah Harriett, director of sales for Trump International Hotel & Tower Chicago. “That includes the imported finishes, spa-inspired baths and, of course, the fireplace in the master bedroom. These homes are more than simply a residence, they are a relaxing retreat. And what could be more relaxing than lying in bed, enjoying the night lights of the city through floor-to-ceiling windows by the glow of a fireplace.”

Trump International Hotel & Tower recently celebrated its topping off, and closings for both hotel condominiums and tower condominiums are underway.

Located at 401 N. Wabash, at Wabash and the Chicago River, homes are priced from $580,000 to $9 million dollars. For condominium sales information at Trump International Hotel & Tower Chicago, visit www.trumpchicago.com or call 312-644-0900.

While a fireplace may add a romantic or luxurious feeling to a master bedroom, it can also make the space feel cozier, especially in a more modern and urban home, added Art Bettuzzi, general manager for project sales at The Front Street Lofts. Located in historic downtown Lemont, The Front Street Lofts offers the C1 loft floor plan, which includes a fireplace in the master bedroom. “Lofts, by nature, have an industrial feel, so adding the unexpected feature of a fireplace in the bedroom makes the space more inviting. It’s a blend of old-fashioned charm and modern design that creates an overall uniqueness to the home.”

The corner fireplace also gives residents extra shelf space, and, according to Bettuzzi, the top of the mantle is rather deep so it’s a perfect spot to display photos or put in an extra television.

Currently, The Front Street Lofts offers two homes for immediate delivery with master bedroom fireplaces. Both homes are two-story lofts with one bedroom and 1½ or two baths.

Priced from the low $200,000s to the mid $400,000s, the lofts range from 863 to 1,891 square feet and include one to two bedrooms, 1 to 2½ baths, and one parking space. Both one- and two-story loft designs are available. Remaining homes feature pre-selected finishes including stainless steel appliances, 42-inch maple cabinets and granite countertops in the kitchen.
