The iconic architecture of Lakeshore East has produced new design awards for two of the growing community’s condominium towers.

DeStefano Partners, an internationally acclaimed architecture, urban planning and interior design firm, has won awards for The Regatta and The Chandler, for which it was design architect with Loewenberg Architects LLC architect of record.

The Regatta, a 44-story structure with 325 residences at 420 E. Waterside Drive, was winner of a Design Excellence Awards from the Association of Licensed Architects (ALA) and the Society of American Registered Architects (SARA).

The Chandler, a 35-story condo tower with 304 residences, was also honored with a SARA Award.

In all, DeStefano Partners was the winner of 10 design awards, topped by the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Chicago Chapter’s prestigious Firm of the Year award.

Rising in the heart of downtown Chicago, steps from world-class attractions Michigan Avenue and Millennium Park, Lakeshore East spans 28 acres, believed to be the largest parcel of downtown land under development in a major U.S. city.  This $4 billion mixed-use development in the rapidly growing New East Side incorporates all the elements of a traditional city community, a lifestyle center that includes homes, retail, recreational opportunities and amenities such as a lush 6-acre public park and a planned elementary school. Construction is progressing on the 82-story Aqua, which will be the first high-rise in the city designed uniquely to combine condominiums, rental apartments, hotel and retail spaces.   The first phase of The Parkhomes at Lakeshore East, an enclave of 25 gracious townhomes, is also under construction.
